Long standing tenant
by (Tenant)I've been with PennRise for over 3 years now and they've come a long way from what was pretty much a three-man operation to a full-fledged business. They have a full admin and maintenance team that both take care of everything and are easy to approach by email or by phone.
PennRise organizes annual gas certifications, boiler checks, are very timely for contract renewals (Oct-Nov times) and clear the weeds at least once a year all at no extra cost (except for the contract and deposit renewal itself).
Not having to deal with letting agencies is a tremendous boon, both for extending contracts and getting maintenance requests in. The admin team is fully equipped to handle your contract and deposit as good as any letting agent would, if not better. Knowing the admin team means you can address the right person for the right job without having to go through some listless help desk employee. They reply within 24 hours and rarely take more than that to get back to you.
The maintenance team built most of the properties, which is a huge advantage when troubleshooting. They know the properties inside out, which means they have replacement parts /materials in stock. They get in, do the job and leave the place tidy. The goes for replacing an appliance, repainting a wall or other repairs.
The private letting market is cut-throat, especially in Cardiff, and from friends and colleagues I gathered that bad experiences are the default with the bigger letting agencies that operate around here. Luckily, I have not had any experiences like that during my time with PennRise Properties.

Friendly and approachable
by (Tenant)Response to queries and emails is excellent, the whole team are very reliable. Maintenance checks are on top and we are provided with plenty of notice regarding inspections, gas checks and viewings etc.
The team at PennRise are very friendly and approachable, it is lovely to have such an amenable team.
